i have been simplifying. and for once, i am actually following through.
i have so many things that tug at my heart, and have special memories attached to them.
and i have many beautiful things that are just that....beautiful things.
the things, i have gone through and been able to eliminate a fair amount for garage sales, etc.
the very special things that tug at my heart because of memories,
those are harder...but they have been lovingly gone through also~
some have been recycled to daughters to enjoy~
some have been repurposed~
and some have been lovingly packed away
waiting for another day
when i can look at them again
and see how they strike my fancy at that time~
"and they are more beautiful if they are few"
i was feeling burdened by all that i've collected over the years (the things...not the heart tugging memories), so i'm lightening the load and letting some things go.

and it is feeling good

It's so true, Kimberly. There are things I look through every now and then wondering if they would mean anything to anyone, but me. Sure as I give away, toss, etc. I know it will come back to bite me. lol
I used to save every.single.scrap of paper that one of the kids scribbled on. I don't do that as often, but when I do, I have to close my eyes. lol
It is hard to do. Do you know I have something my middle son made in the second grade and he is now 42 years old? Sentimental I guess. You will get it all figured out.
Thanks for stopping by my blog to visit.
Hugs to you
@sally...i was saving every scrap of paper from my grandkids and realized....i can't do that...so i keep every other one! haha xo
@patti....it IS hard ~ i also have stuff from my kids from before they were in school...old cards, drawings etc....i can't part with those...but at some time, i plan on giving them back to the giver...so they can enjoy them further! :-)xo
Love you my darling one
big hugs
It is hard to let our treasures go, that's for sure! I still am sadden at the loss of the antiques that we had to sell before we moved this smaller place.
you are a beautiful mama! thanks for the pictures ;) i love you!!
Letting go of the object is not letting go of the memory. Simplifying is liberating, re-defining space for the sake of simplicity. We could take pictures of what we are throwing out in this digitally advanced time. Hey, you could make a collage of pictures of the "stuff"...problem solved.
Love to you dear friend ~
Hope to see you in the near future!
